The North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria has postponed ruling on an application brought by former Speaker of Parliament Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula to dismiss all corruption charges against her.
The postponement comes after the High Court on Monday heard extensive arguments from Mapisa-Nqakula's legal representative and the State.
Mapisa-Nqakula is facing charges of allegedly soliciting bribes from a Defence Department logistics contractor, accusations she has consistently denied.
She is facing 12 counts of corruption and one count of money laundering.
She is accused of soliciting R4.5 million from a service provider during her as defence and military veterans minister between 2016 and 2019. The State alleges that R2.1 million of the money was received in cash.
The former Speaker has denied the allegations.
The case will return to court on September 7, 2026, where the judge will make a ruling on the discharge application.
