Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe is set to enter into history as it hosts a unique Airtel Top 8 final between Blantyre-based Mighty Wanderers and newcomers Ekhaya FC.

The Nomads arrive as one of Malawi’s traditional giants, carrying history, expectation and a trophy-hungry fan base while the Cowboys arrive as the bold new challengers, chasing a fairy-tale title in their first-ever Airtel Top 8 final.
Ekhaya have crafted their route to the showpiece with the confidence of a side that refuses to read the script.
They knocked out defending champions FCB Nyasa Bullets in the quarter-finals before edging Karonga United 2-1 in the semi-final.

The Nomads overcame Creck Sporting Club in the quarter-finals before surviving a penalty shootout against Blue Eagles in the semi-final.
After Lameck Mithi’s penalty put Wanderers ahead and Blue Eagles fought back to level, the Nomads kept their nerve to win 5-4 from the spot.
This afternoon, Mithi will be central to Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira’s attacking plans.
With two goals already in the competition, he will be eager to add another on the biggest stage and close the gap on Chihana in the Golden Boot race.
Veteran attacker Isaac Kaliati will also be the midfield mastermind who sets the rhythm for the Nomads.
His experience and calmness may prove decisive in a contest where possession, tempo and composure will be precious commodities.
