The South African Police Service (SAPS) has dismissed Major General Feroz Khan from its ranks after the suspended Crime Intelligence deputy head failed to appear before the senior officer handling his disciplinary process on 2 September 2026, Cape {town} Etc reports.
SAPS confirmed Khan’s dismissal under Regulation 9(7)(b) of the SAPS Discipline Regulations. The regulation provides for a member to be deemed dismissed after failing to attend an expeditious disciplinary process.
In a statement, SAPS said Khan was deemed dismissed after failing to appear before the designated senior officer responsible for dealing with the matter.
The service also stressed its position on accountability and discipline. Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said:* ‘No member, regardless of rank or position, is above the law or the applicable disciplinary framework.’*
The dismissal follows a Labour Court setback for Khan. On 31 August, the court struck his urgent application off the roll after he sought to stop the disciplinary process, according to EWN.
Khan is also due to appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on 28 September. The commission is examining allegations of corruption, political interference and criminal infiltration within law enforcement. Madlanga Commission profile
