What We Know So Far About the Gruesome Murder of 23-Year-Old Female Footballer Efya Agartha

A 23-year-old female footballer, Efya Agartha, has reportedly been murdered at Adum Afrancho, near Aboabo, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, with two suspects arrested in connection with the incident.

Agartha, also known as Agartha Takyiwaa and popularly called 1 Cedi, was a defender for Fabulous Ladies FC.

Besides her football career, she operated a commercial tricycle, commonly known as a Pragya, to earn additional income.

Preliminary reports indicate that the young footballer was allegedly attacked after accepting a request to transport a passenger.

The individual who reportedly hired her services is suspected of stabbing her with a knife and slitting her throat.

Details surrounding the circumstances of her death remain unclear, as the exact sequence of events leading to the alleged attack has yet to be officially established.

Meanwhile, two suspects have reportedly been arrested in Techiman in the Bono East Region in connection with the murder.

The suspects were allegedly found with Agartha’s tricycle and mobile phone, raising suspicions about their possible involvement in the incident.
