2027: SDP expresses satisfaction with INEC over governorship, Assembly candidates’ list

As preparations for the 2027 general elections hot up, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has expressed satisfaction with the list of its governorship and State Assembly candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Reacting to the list during an interview with the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Ayenigba, said the party was satisfied with the list across the states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to him, “Our great party, the SDP, has no issues with the list of our 2027 governorship and State Assembly candidates as released by INEC.

“The names of all our nominated candidates in the states were correctly listed as submitted by the party.

“There are no rumblings or crises in the state chapters of the SDP as a result of the list of candidates released by INEC.”

He urged the commission to continue to follow the rules and guidelines already released to the letter to ensure successful polls in 2027.
