
A heatwave and thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusty winds are expected from Wednesday to Friday in several provinces across the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said.
A heatwave, with temperatures ranging between 42 and 45°C, is expected from Wednesday to Friday in the provinces of Kenitra, Aousserd, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Errachidia, Zagora, Marrakech, Rehamna, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Ouezzane, Larache, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, Sidi Kacem, Meknes, Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaa des Sraghna and Beni Mellal, the DGM noted in a level-orange weather alert bulletin.
The same phenomenon, with temperatures ranging between 38 and 42°C, is expected over the same period in the provinces of Settat, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Taroudant, Khouribga, Khenifra, Chichaoua and Salé, the same source added.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusty winds, with rainfall ranging between 25 and 40 mm, are expected from Wednesday at 2 p.m. to Thursday at 2 a.m. in the province of Aousserd.
