Derby County have officially confirmed the signing of Ghana international forward Mohammed Fuseini on a season-long loan from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise.The 24-year-old completed his move to the Championship club on deadline day, becoming a new attacking option for manager John Eustace.Fuseini is capable of operating across the front line and on either flank, offering Derby greater versatility in attack as they look to strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 campaign.The Ghanaian began his football journey at the renowned Right to Dream Academy before moving to Europe in February 2022 to join Austrian club Sturm Graz.He made 27 first-team appearances for Sturm Graz and was part of the squad that won the Austrian Bundesliga during the 2023/24 season.Fuseini subsequently spent six months on loan at Danish Superliga side Randers, where his performances attracted the attention of Union Saint-Gilloise.The Brussels-based club signed him in 2024, and Fuseini went on to enjoy a successful spell in Belgium, winning both the Belgian Pro League and Belgian Cup during his first two seasons.His experience extends beyond domestic football, with Fuseini making 12 appearances in the UEFA Europa League and coming up against some of Europe's biggest clubs, including Lazio, Roma and Ajax.He has also featured seven times in the UEFA Champions League, gaining valuable experience against Bayern Munich, PSV Eindhoven and Atalanta.Fuseini has scored 15 goals during his time with Union Saint-Gilloise and had attracted interest from several clubs during the summer transfer window.His move to Derby follows the collapse of a proposed switch to Birmingham City, after the Ghanaian had travelled to England and completed a medical for the Championship club.Derby eventually secured his services on deadline day, giving Fuseini the opportunity to continue his career in English football.At international level, Fuseini has earned two caps for Ghana and will now look to impress in the Championship as he seeks to establish himself at both club and international level.
