Dangote Refinery has once again adjusted the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, just days after a recent reduction.
According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, October 10, 2026, a market survey conducted on Saturday revealed that the refinery increased its gantry diesel price to N1,800 per litre, up from N1,700, representing a N100 per litre hike.
Despite the upward adjustment, Dangote’s diesel remains relatively cheaper compared to depot owners such as Pivot, African Terminal, and Integrated, who were selling at N1,905 per litre at the time of reporting. This price gap means Dangote’s product is still N105 lower, offering some relief to buyers.
However, analysts warn that the increase could push retail prices beyond the current range of N1,960 to N1,980 per litre in Abuja and surrounding areas, further straining consumers and businesses reliant on diesel.
This development comes only three days after Dangote Refinery reduced its diesel price by N80, bringing it down to N1,700 from N1,780. The latest adjustment reflects ongoing volatility in the energy market, influenced by global crude oil prices.
As of Saturday, Brent crude traded at $104 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood at $91 per barrel, underscoring the pressure on fuel costs worldwide.
