Shatta Wale Donates GH¢20,000 To Family Of Police Officer Killed On His Way To ShattaFest 2026

According to a report by Ghbase Daily on Thursday October 22, 2026, Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has extended a helping hand to the bereaved family of Police Officer Prince Adu, who tragically lost his life in an accident while travelling to provide security at ShattaFest 2026 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In a gesture of compassion and support, the musician has donated GH¢20,000 to the family of the deceased officer and pledged to offer further assistance to help them cope with the loss.

Officer Prince Adu reportedly died in the accident on October 17, 2026, while on duty and travelling to the Accra Sports Stadium, where thousands of music fans had gathered for the much-anticipated ShattaFest concert. Unfortunately, the officer did not arrive at the venue to carry out his security assignment as planned.

The tragic incident has drawn attention to the sacrifices made by security personnel who work to protect the public and ensure the smooth organisation of major entertainment events.

Officer Adu was among the personnel expected to contribute to maintaining security at the concert before the unfortunate accident cut short his life.

Following the incident, Shatta Wale took steps to support the family as they mourn their loved one. On Wednesday, the musician dispatched members of his team to visit the bereaved family and present the financial donation on his behalf.

The delegation reportedly handed over GH¢20,000 in an envelope as an initial contribution towards the family’s needs, particularly those of Officer Adu’s surviving children.

The donation is intended to provide some relief to the family as they navigate the emotional and financial difficulties associated with the officer’s untimely death.

The loss of a parent and breadwinner can place considerable pressure on a family, especially when young children are left behind.

Beyond the initial financial support, Shatta Wale has also promised to provide additional assistance to the family, indicating his willingness to continue supporting them beyond the first donation.

The gesture has highlighted the importance of extending solidarity to families of security personnel who lose their lives while performing their official duties.

Although the GH¢20,000 contribution cannot replace Officer Adu or erase the family’s grief, it is expected to offer some immediate assistance as they adjust to life without him.

ShattaFest 2026, which brought together music lovers for a major entertainment event at the Accra Sports Stadium, was the occasion Officer Adu was travelling to secure when the fatal accident occurred.

The musician’s intervention has added a humanitarian dimension to the tragic incident, with his delegation’s visit serving as a show of sympathy for the deceased officer’s family.

As the family continues to mourn Officer Prince Adu, Shatta Wale’s donation and promise of further support are expected to provide some assistance to his surviving children during this difficult period.
