Minister of State for Industry, in the federal ministry of Industry,Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh, has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State not to allow the mistake of the 2023 presidential election to repeat itself in the state where the Labour Party Presidential Candidate Mr. Peter Obi won 10 out of 18 local government area in the state.
Enoh issued the warning on Sunday in Calabar during the inauguration of the state executives and polling unit coordinators of Project Beyond 2027, a grassroots mobilization group for President Bola Tinubu.
The Minister, who is also Director of Manufacturing and MSME Sector Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, lamented the party’s poor outing in the last presidential election in the state.
“In the 2023 election, out of 18 local governments, our president only won seven. Atiku Abubakar won one. Ten of Cross River’s local governments were won by Peter Obi,” he said.
He declared that the objective of Project Beyond in Cross River is to change that narrative by securing victory in all 18 local government areas for President Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu in the 2027 general elections.
Enoh, who inaugurated the southern senatorial district structure of the group at Atu Field, Calabar South, charged the coordinators to return to their polling units, engage residents in markets and communities, and ensure massive mobilisation for the APC.
