Retired Hawks head, Godfrey Lebeya returns to the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday as questions linger over why no action was taken against Senona, despite him being a person of interest in the 2021 Port Shepstone drug theft.
Lebeya admitted on Tuesday that Senona was never subjected to a polygraph test and that no action was taken against him, despite his status as a person of interest.
The admission has put the handling of the investigation under renewed scrutiny, with the commission examining why Senona was not subjected to further investigative measures.
The admission raises sharp questions about investigative decisions surrounding the case, including why Senona remained untouched despite attracting police interest.
