KwaZulu Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli led a remembrance ceremony in Ulundi honouring the cultural, political and developmental legacy of the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
The annual commemoration honours the life, statemanship, cultural and political legacy of the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi (1928–2023), the founder of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) and Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu monarch and nation.
The event was attended by members of the Zulu Royal family, amabutho, as well as mayors, MECs and ministers.
Various speakers paid tribute to the late uMntwana waKwaPhindangene for preserving the dignity of the Zulu monarchy and championing education and development for the people of KwaZulu-Natal and beyond, irrespective of their political affiliation.
