RMB Namibia has appointed Rehabeam “Ray” Auala Jr as its new Head of Global Markets, strengthening the bank’s focus on helping businesses manage financial risk and access investment opportunities.
The appointment took effect on 1 June 2026 as demand grows for foreign exchange, capital markets and risk management services.
Auala has spent more than 12 years with the FirstRand Namibia Group since joining as a bursary student. Throughout his career, he has worked in financial accounting, treasury and global markets, most recently leading RMB Namibia’s Trade and Execution Desk.
RMB Namibia chief executive officer Daniel Motinga said Auala’s experience and leadership made him the right person for the role.
“Global Markets is a business built on judgement, technical expertise and trust. Ray has earned the confidence of colleagues and clients through his ability to understand markets, make sound decisions and lead with humility,” said Motinga.
Auala said businesses are operating in a fast-changing market and need the right financial support to manage risks and seize opportunities.
“Our role is to help clients respond with confidence, giving them access to the insight and market solutions they need to manage risk, make informed decisions and grow their businesses,” he said.
The bank said the appointment forms part of its strategy to strengthen specialist expertise and support the growth of Namibia’s financial sector.
