NPP Chairmanship race: John Boadu picks No. 1; check out full positions on ballot paper

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held balloting for its national chairmanship hopefuls ahead of the national election scheduled for October 3, 2026.

The election will be between four aspirants who made it through the vetting process, following the withdrawal of former Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi.

After the end of the balloting on Wednesday, former General Secretary, John Boadu picked the first slot.

Sammy Crabbe picked the second position, followed by former NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko in third place, while former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko completes the ballot in fourth.

The race is expected to be closely watched as the NPP seeks to strengthen its internal structures and position itself for the next electoral contest.

With the October 3 election drawing closer, the candidates are expected to intensify their engagements with delegates across the country in a bid to secure the votes needed to lead the party as National Chairman.
