Former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has accused content creator, Ashmusy, of attempting to have her removed from a multi-million-naira celebrity boxing event.
Phyna made the allegation in an Instagram video on Thursday, claiming that she had been in discussions with the organisers since February 2026 before introducing Ashmusy to them.
According to her, the organisers initially approached her to participate in a celebrity boxing match and later asked her to recommend other celebrities who could take part.
Phyna said she recommended Ashmusy after another proposed opponent became unavailable, but alleged that the content creator subsequently asked the organisers to replace her.
She said, “Ashmusy, you’re evil. A company reached out to me in February to come and fight a Ghanaian. But along the line, something came up for her; she said she had a wedding on the day of the fight.
“It was as if I was part of the organisers because they called me to help reach out to so-and-so person. So, I was just contributing and giving names of people that I thought they should reach out to.
“After I talked with Ashmusy, she said I should connect her with the organiser. I then went on a three-way call, and she asked for their number. After accepting the deal, Ashmusy stopped picking my calls and didn’t reply to my messages.
“Now, do you know that since a day before yesterday, Ashmusy has been telling the organiser to drop me, that she has a better person to replace me? Me that has been talking to this company for seven months since February. I was the one who brought Ashmusy in last week.”
Responding in a statement posted on her Instagram page, Ashmusy denied attempting to remove Phyna from the event.
She claimed that she was uncomfortable fighting Phyna because she was not a professional boxer, adding that she only communicated her concerns to the organisers.
She said, “I did not ask for Phyna to be removed from the event. I did not campaign against her participation. I simply expressed that I was not comfortable boxing her, and the organisers offered a solution that worked for everyone.”
According to Ashmusy, the organisers agreed to arrange separate bouts for both women and assured her that Phyna would be informed of the arrangement.
However, she expressed frustration that what she described as private discussions had become a public matter and condemned the threats directed at her following the controversy.
Ashmusy subsequently announced her withdrawal from the event, saying she did not want to be involved in a public dispute.
“I have decided to opt out of this bout entirely. That decision should be respected and professionally reflected by all parties involved. I will not be dragged into a public back-and-forth. This is my final statement on this matter,” she said.
