Sri Lanka May See Increased Rainfall and Flood Risk in October and November

Sri Lanka could experience increased rainfall during October and November, with authorities potentially needing to prepare for possible flood conditions, an official from the Department of Meteorology said.

According to the official, current forecasts indicate that rainfall is expected to increase during the two months. October and November are generally periods when Sri Lanka experiences flood conditions, particularly due to increased activity in the Bay of Bengal.

Depending on the intensity of the rainfall, preparations may be required to deal with possible flooding, the official said.
