Organiser race: I can lead NPP grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2028 – Titus-Glover

Aspiring National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has cited his experience in grassroots mobilisation, strategic planning and party organisation as key reasons for seeking the position.

He said the National Organiser must be a strategist capable of mobilising the party from the grassroots and coordinating training for party officers ahead of elections.

Speaking in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, September 15, Mr Titus-Glover said organisation and mobilisation were central to his political approach.

“Sitting before you, my whole being is organisation. How to bring people together, mobilising people, because the core functions of a National Organiser, by our constitution, are to be the great strategist of the party. He mobilises the party from the grassroots,” he said.

He said the National Organiser was also responsible for organising training for party officers in areas including elections and election operations.

Mr Titus-Glover said the role required effective planning and a strategy that could be implemented from the beginning of a political cycle through to Election Day.

“And in deploying strategy, it’s not by noise. I’m a type; I don’t make noise. I operate underground quietly, and I want the results to show,” he said.

He also described himself as a disciplinarian and said discipline would be an important part of his approach to rebuilding the NPP and preparing it for the 2028 elections.

“We need to bring some discipline to the table,” he said, adding that communication, marketing, rebranding and repackaging would also be necessary.

Mr Titus-Glover further said the party needed to protect its 2028 presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, from what he described as insults and attacks directed at him and former President Nana Akufo-Addo.

“NPP 2028 flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is our face. Look at how people have insulted him and former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, all because of votes. Should we sit down for those insults to be hurled against you all the time? We need to protect him,” he said.

He also questioned the use of religion in assessing Dr Bawumia, arguing that attention should instead be paid to his capacity, vision and potential contribution to the country.

Mr Titus-Glover said his experience, ability to work with people across different social groups and commitment to mentoring younger party members would help him perform the role.

“I have all the expertise. I have all the capacity. I’m a team player. I bring people together. I mentor people, especially the younger ones. So I’ll be able to get the best out of them,” he said.

He said he could mobilise people across the grassroots, middle class and upper class, citing humility, respect and communication skills as some of his strengths.

“I want to be a National Organiser because I have the capacity. Two, I have the experience. Three, I can mobilise both the grassroots, the middle class, and the upper class. I fit everywhere because I’m very humble and I respect a lot,” he said.

Mr Titus-Glover said he intended to bring these qualities to the office as he sought to help the NPP prepare for the 2028 elections.
