Kalonzo Tells Farouk Whom to Consult If He Wants Him to Join Ruto — Details

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has sent a strong message to President William Ruto’s allies after declaring that he cannot be pressured into joining the government ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking in remarks circulating on Facebook, Kalonzo appeared to respond to discussions surrounding attempts to bring him closer to Ruto’s political camp. He specifically mentioned Farouk Kibet, a close aide to the President, while insisting that any discussions involving former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua should be handled directly.

“Kalonzo haweziambiwa na FAROUK KIBET ati niingie kwa Ruto, wakitaka waende waongee na RIGGY G,” Kalonzo stated.

His remarks, which have attracted attention on social media, come amid ongoing political realignments as opposition leaders consider possible partnerships ahead of the next general election.

Kalonzo has been mentioned among the key figures who could lead the opposition against Ruto in 2027. However, the question of who should carry the opposition’s presidential ticket remains a major issue in discussions involving different political leaders.

Gachagua has also expressed his willingness to support Kalonzo if opposition leaders agree to rally behind him as their presidential candidate. The position has added another dimension to negotiations between the two leaders as they seek to establish a common political strategy.

Kalonzo’s latest remarks could further fuel debate over whether he will eventually work with Ruto or remain aligned with opposition forces seeking to challenge the President.

His reference to Farouk Kibet also highlights the sensitivity surrounding political negotiations, particularly when they involve senior opposition figures and individuals close to the Head of State.

With the 2027 elections approaching, attention is likely to remain focused on Kalonzo and Gachagua as political leaders continue exploring possible alliances.

For now, Kalonzo’s statement signals that decisions about his political future will not be dictated by individuals seeking to influence his position.
