Peter Ndlovu speaks on his first win as Scottland head coach

Peter Ndlovu has expressed his delight after getting off to a winning start as Scottland head coach following a 1-0 victory over CAPS United on Thursday.

Emmanuel Jalai scored the only goal of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 32 encounter in the sixth minute to hand Ndlovu victory in his first game in charge.

Reflecting on the result, Ndlovu said he was pleased to get his first win but was particularly impressed by the team’s unity and discipline.

“I am happy to have won at the first time of asking,” said Ndlovu.

“What I am happy about today is, perhaps not the performance itself, but the way these boys were together today, in everything. Most of the game we came under pressure because they attacked us, but we managed to sustain that and make sure that we kept our discipline.”
