DODOMA: TANZANIA’S Vice President-designate, Deogratius Ndejembi, has said the position is a responsibility to all Tanzanians and must be carried out without regard to political party ideology.
Ndejembi made the remarks in a brief speech in Parliament in Dodoma after lawmakers unanimously approved his appointment with 100 percent of the votes.
He said that, just as the President of the United Republic of Tanzania is the leader of all Tanzanians, the Vice President is also a leader who represents and serves all citizens.

Ndejembi said he would carry out the responsibility in the broader national interest and work with all Tanzanians without creating divisions based on political ideology.
In his speech, Ndejembi also mentioned Njombe MP, Sigrada Mligo, and Tunduru MP Ado Shaibu, thanking them for their participation in the process leading to his approval.
Ndejembi’s approval follows his appointment to the position after Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi resigned as Vice President.
