Govt challenges Kabambe to submit corruption evidence to ACB
Government has challenged UTM President Dalitso Kabambe and other political figures who have repeatedly raised corruption allegations to submit evidence to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) or Malawi Police Service for investigation.
Minister of Information and Communications Technology Shadric Namalomba said the administration of President Peter Mutharika would not shield any individual, including Cabinet ministers and senior public officials, from lawful investigation or prosecution.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Namalomba reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fighting corruption, stressing that no one is above the law.
He said corruption should be treated as a criminal matter rather than used as a political weapon, urging those with evidence of suspected wrongdoing to report it to the relevant authorities.
Government has also called on law enforcement agencies to investigate credible corruption allegations promptly, thoroughly and impartially.
Namalomba encouraged Malawians to report suspected corruption through established channels, including the ACB’s toll-free number 113, assuring the public that the administration would neither protect corrupt individuals nor interfere with lawful investigations.
