The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kaduna State Command has recorded major operational successes in August 2026, with 140 suspects arrested and 816.506 kilograms of illicit drugs seized across the state.
According to a press statement signed on Monday by the Command Press Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics Sani Garba, the Command also dismantled drug joints and recovered ammunition during coordinated raids.
The Command said Cannabis Sativa accounted for the largest portion of the seizures with 791.469kg.
Other drugs recovered include 2.5kg of Cocaine, 20.129kg of Tramadol, 0.158kg of Methamphetamine, and 4.748kg of various psychotropic substances.
Additional substances intercepted include Codeine, Diazepam, Rohypnol and Pentazocine.
In the same period, operatives also recovered 241 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and one locally made pistol.
Beyond enforcement, the Command said it sustained its Drug Demand Reduction drive, adding, “Eight clients successfully completed Counselling, Treatment and Rehabilitation programmes, while brief interventions were conducted for 35 others”.
A total of 754 persons also underwent Drug Integrity Tests during the month under review.
The State Commander, CN Maijama’a Muhammad, commended officers and men for their resilience, dedication and professionalism.
He charged personnel to remain vigilant, proactive and intelligence-driven in tackling emerging drug-related threats in the state.
“The NDLEA Kaduna State Command remains resolute in its determination to rid the state of illicit substances and drug trafficking and any other associated criminal activities,” the statement said.
The Command added that it will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure peace, safety and a secure future for all residents of Kaduna State.
