Nations Championship statement

United by a shared ambition, the founding unions have created a premium global competition that delivers for fans, partners and the wider game.

Leaders from the ten founding Nations Championship unions met in Sydney, Australia this week to strengthen their partnership and continue to advance an agile dynamic framework to support the tournament’s long-term success.

Buoyed by the success of July’s Southern Hemisphere Series, the new structure will enable effective decision-making, foster innovation and deepen fan engagement, while supporting sustainable growth across the sport.

This partnership will complement World Rugby’s role and existing competitions, ensuring continued alignment and collaboration across the international game.
