The Moroccan dirham fell 1.47% against the euro and 2.95% against the US dollar between October 1 and 7, 2026, Bank Al-Maghrib said in its weekly indicators bulletin.
The Casablanca Stock Exchange’s main index, the MASI, also fell during the week.
The central bank said it carried out no foreign-exchange auctions during the period.
Official reserve assets stood at MAD 515.7 billion on October 2, up 1.8% from the previous week and 23% from a year earlier.
Bank Al-Maghrib’s average daily liquidity injections reached MAD 155.1 billion, including MAD 59.7 billion in seven-day advances, MAD 44.9 billion in longer-term repurchase agreements, and MAD 50.7 billion in guaranteed loans.
On the interbank market, the interest rate remained at 2.25%, while daily trading averaged MAD 3.4 billion.
The central bank injected MAD 52.6 billion through seven-day advances in its October 7 tender, with repayment due on October 8.
On the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the MASI fell 4.2% during the week, bringing its losses since the start of the year to 9.8%, amid declines across various listed sector indices.
Real estate development and participation fell 9.1%, followed by mining at 5.9%, transport services at 5.3%, and construction and building materials at 4.7%. The banking index dropped 1.9%.
Weekly trading volume fell from MAD 1.9 billion to MAD 1.1 billion, with most transactions taking place on the central stock market.
