Four Yobe indigenes die in Algeria while seeking greener pastures

Four young men from Tsangai village, Moyori Ward, in Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe State, have died in Algeria, where they had travelled in search of livelihood opportunities.

The deaths were confirmed in a condolence statement issued by the Executive Chairman of Yusufari Local Government, Hon. Adam Jibrin, on Tuesday, September 28, 2026.

Jibrin said the deaths had left the families, community and people of Yusufari Local Government in deep grief.

“It is with profound sadness and a deeply heavy heart that I received the heartbreaking news of the passing of four promising young men from Garin Tsangai, Moyori Ward, Yusufari Local Government,” he said.

He said the deceased had travelled to Algeria in search of a better livelihood and a brighter future for themselves and their families.

“Their untimely departure is a painful and irreplaceable loss to their families, their community, and the entire people of Yusufari Local Government.”

The chairman condoled with the parents, siblings, relatives and friends of the deceased and prayed for Allah to grant the four men eternal rest and their families the strength to bear the loss.

He also prayed for the safety of young people travelling in search of opportunities and urged divine protection for communities against further tragedies.
