Kate Moss Spotted Carrying Two Vapes as Sister Lottie Makes Shocking Claim About Their Broken Relationship
Supermodel Kate Moss was spotted enjoying an outdoor lunch in north London on Thursday, putting on a stylish display as she visited Lemonia restaurant while carrying two vapes.
The 52-year-old fashion icon opted for a chic combination of designer and casual pieces, wearing a black Dior Cannage jacket with Levi’s Orange Tab jeans. She completed the outfit with a black belt, boots and sunglasses, while carrying her belongings in a Bottega Veneta handbag.
Kate was also seen looking through a Louis Vuitton magazine and taking a phone call during the outing, offering a glimpse of her day away from the fashion spotlight.
Her appearance comes amid renewed attention on her relationship with her younger half-sister, Lottie Moss, who has spoken publicly about the distance between them.
Lottie Moss Says She Has Almost No Relationship With Kate
Lottie, 28, has revealed that she and Kate have little contact, describing their relationship as complicated and admitting that she once struggled with the lack of response to her attempts to get in touch.
Speaking on Olivia Attwood’s podcast, Olivia’s House, the influencer said she had previously been reluctant to discuss the issue because of her sister’s fame and her desire not to upset her.
However, Lottie said she also wanted to acknowledge her own experiences, explaining that the pair had never developed a particularly close bond.
She said they had grown up in different circumstances and that she had come to accept their relationship for what it was.
Lottie also explained that being Kate’s sister often led people to assume they were close or that Kate was involved in her life. In reality, she said, she did not always know what was happening with her older sibling.
Repeated Attempts to Contact Her Sister Left Lottie Hurt
Lottie admitted that she had looked up to Kate while growing up and had hoped they would develop a stronger relationship.
Watching her sister’s modelling career, she said, had made Kate seem exceptionally cool, leaving her eager to build a connection with the internationally recognised supermodel.
However, Lottie recalled sending text messages and making phone calls without receiving replies. She said the experience had left her feeling bitter and embarrassed, particularly when other people asked about her relationship with Kate.
Despite the disappointment, she stressed that she did not blame her sister for the situation and acknowledged that Kate was entitled to make her own choices.
Lottie added that she had since found support and a sense of family among her friends, helping her accept that she did not necessarily need the relationship she had once hoped for.
A 24-Year Age Gap Shaped Their Different Childhoods
Kate and Lottie share the same father, Peter Moss, but were raised in different family circumstances.
Kate and her younger brother, Nick, were born during Peter’s first marriage to Linda Shepherd. The couple divorced in 1987, when Kate was 13.
Peter later married Lottie’s mother, Inger Solnordal, and welcomed Lottie in 1998, when Kate was 24.
The substantial age difference meant the sisters experienced different stages of family life, something Lottie believes contributed to the lack of a close relationship.
Her comments suggest that, despite sharing a father and a famous family name, the pair did not develop the connection that many people might expect between sisters.
From Bridesmaid to a Strained Relationship
The sisters have not always been entirely distant. Lottie was a bridesmaid at Kate’s wedding, and the younger model also stayed at her sister’s Cotswolds home during the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, reports later emerged of tensions between them, with their contrasting lifestyles said to have contributed to disagreements during the lockdown period.
According to an account previously reported by Page Six, Kate became frustrated with Lottie’s drinking and her social media activity while they were living under the same roof.
The report also claimed that Kate was uncomfortable around people using cocaine, a position linked to her own well-documented history of controversy surrounding drug use.
Kate was photographed taking cocaine in 2005 while she was dating musician Pete Doherty, triggering widespread media attention. In the years since, she has increasingly been associated with wellness, yoga and a quieter lifestyle.
Lottie, meanwhile, has previously spoken openly about her personal struggles and experiences, although the reported differences between the sisters should not be taken as confirmation of every claim made about their private disagreements.
Lottie Previously Spoke About Their Distance in 2013
The sisters’ strained relationship is not a new subject. Lottie reportedly discussed the lack of contact in 2013, saying she did not really know her older half-sister and that Kate did not reply to her messages.
In a self-written essay, Lottie also acknowledged that having a famous sibling could offer opportunities, but said she wanted to establish herself independently and use her own earnings to pay for her private education.
Her latest comments indicate that the distance has continued over the years, even as both sisters have pursued careers in the public eye.
Lottie’s remarks also reflect the difficulty of navigating a family relationship when one sibling is internationally famous and the other is trying to build an identity and career of her own.
Sisters Reunite at Their Father’s 80th Birthday
Despite Lottie’s account of their limited contact, the sisters have continued to appear together at some family gatherings.
As recently as last month, Kate and Lottie attended their father’s 80th birthday lunch at The Griffin pub in Sussex. Their brother Nick shared photographs from the celebration on social media, with both sisters pictured alongside their father.
Kate was seen posing with Lottie during the gathering, prompting renewed interest in whether the pair had put some of their differences behind them.
Their appearance together does not necessarily indicate that their relationship has changed significantly, particularly given Lottie’s latest remarks. However, it shows that they continue to make appearances at important family occasions.
For now, Lottie’s comments suggest she has made peace with the fact that she and Kate may never have the close sisterly relationship she once wanted, even as the family continues to come together for significant milestones.
