Davido Features Wife Chioma in ‘Already Falling’ Video, Recreates Proposal Scene
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has released the official music video for his romantic song, ‘Already Falling’, featuring his wife, Chioma Adeleke, in a cinematic love story that culminates in the singer getting down on one knee to present her with a ring.
The music video premiered on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, and has drawn attention for its romantic scenes, lavish European setting and the couple’s on-screen chemistry.
Directed by Meji Alabi, the video was filmed at the historic Château de Chanteloup in Cognac, France, combining grand French architecture with Nigerian cultural elements and contemporary Afrobeats aesthetics.
Davido announced the release on social media with the caption, “Already Falling. From us to you. Enjoy.”
One of the standout moments in the video comes towards the end, when Davido kneels beside a lake at dusk and opens a red ring box in front of Chioma.
The romantic sequence recalls the couple’s relationship journey, presenting a cinematic celebration of their commitment as husband and wife rather than announcing a new engagement.
Throughout the video, the couple appear in a series of elaborate scenes, including a horse-drawn carriage ride, a red convertible and elegant outfits inspired by royal and traditional fashion.
Chioma also appears in a gold-and-black gown, while the production features dancers, grand interiors and a portrait-style sequence portraying the couple as royalty.
The visuals have attracted reactions from fans, with many praising the couple’s chemistry and welcoming Chioma’s appearance in the music video.
The new video draws comparisons with Davido’s 2018 hit, ‘Assurance’, which he dedicated to Chioma when they were dating.
Directed by Meji Alabi, who also worked on ‘Assurance’, the new release revisits a familiar theme in Davido’s music: publicly celebrating his relationship with Chioma.
Chioma appeared in the ‘Assurance’ video as Davido’s girlfriend. Years later, ‘Already Falling’ presents the couple at a different stage of their relationship, now as husband and wife.
She has also featured in other Davido videos, including ‘1 Milli’, which had a wedding-inspired theme.
The latest release therefore adds another chapter to the couple’s long-running presence in the singer’s music and public image.
‘Already Falling’ is the eighth track on Davido’s sixth studio album, Oriadé, released on July 31, 2026.
The song blends English, Yoruba and Nigerian Pidgin in a playful declaration of love and commitment. It also draws inspiration from the familiar romantic theme of Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, reinterpreted through an Afrobeats sound.
The track credits Davido, Peruzzi, Classic and Sensei among its songwriters, with Classic and Sensei credited as producers. Peruzzi also provides background vocals.
The music video expands the album’s visual campaign while connecting Davido’s romantic storytelling with his established relationship with Chioma.
Beyond the romance, the production also incorporates Davido’s commercial partnership with French cognac brand Martell.
The video features Martell bottles, including editions associated with the brand’s Afrobeats-themed collaboration with Davido and Ghanaian visual artist Prince Gyasi.
The partnership brings together music, visual art and luxury branding, with the Château de Chanteloup serving as a backdrop for the video’s polished aesthetic.
As Davido continues promoting Oriadé, ‘Already Falling’ offers fans a combination of romance, luxury and familiar references to one of the defining relationships in his musical career.
For many listeners, the release is more than a new music video: it is a return to the love-story narrative that helped make ‘Assurance’ one of Davido’s most memorable songs.
