Forson Amankwah scores again as Hapoel Be’er Sheva close in on league summit in Israel

Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah continued his impressive run of form on Monday night, scoring as Hapoel Beer Sheva defeated Maccabi Haifa 5-2 in the Israeli league. The victory lifts Hapoel Beer Sheva to third place in the standings, just one point off the top, as they strengthen their push for the league title.Amankwah has been in fine form in recent weeks, registering three goals and an assist in his last five matches. The midfielder appears to be settling well in Israel following his summer loan move from English Championship side Norwich City, where he struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player. The loan deal covers the 2026/27 season and does not include an option to buy, meaning Amankwah is expected to return to Norwich at the end of the campaign.Amankwah joined Norwich from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in August 2024 and signed a four-year contract, with the Canaries holding an option to extend the deal by a further year. His current form in Israel will be encouraging for both club and country as he looks to build consistency, gain valuable playing time and continue his development.
