Emmanuel Antwi trained with Asante Kotoko on Monday morning at Adako Jachie following the team's victory over Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup on Friday.The 26-year-old midfielder, who joined Kotoko from Great Olympics in July 2024 on a three-year deal, was part of the squad that won the Democracy Cup on penalties.He nearly scored in the 58th minute of the final, but his close-range effort was saved by goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim.Now, according to reports, there is expected to be a meeting between Antwi and the technical team to discuss a possible return to the Asante Kotoko first-team squad.Antwi's first season at Kotoko was a mixed one. Despite scoring in the third league game of the season against Young Apostles, he made only 15 starts and nine substitute appearances, later admitting that injuries and off-field issues had hampered his performance.His current contract runs until June 2027.His return to training signals a potential reintegration into the squad under head coach Eric Tinkler as the Porcupine Warriors continue their pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
