
His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a message of condolences to the family members of the activist and human rights figure, the late Abdelaziz Bennani.
In this message, the Sovereign expresses to the family of the deceased and all his loved ones, and through them, to the entire human rights family, His heartfelt condolences and sincere compassion following the loss of one of the leading figures of human rights activism in Morocco, the Arab countries, and the world, imploring the Almighty to welcome the deceased into His holy mercy and to grant his family members patience and consolation.
The Royal message highlights the qualities of the deceased, his legacy, and his commitment and activism in favor of human rights through the various missions and responsibilities he assumed. This notably includes his significant contribution within the framework of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission and his presidency of a national human rights organization, as well as his pioneering roles within several Arab and international human rights organizations and networks.
Furthermore, the Sovereign recalls the noble human qualities the deceased demonstrated throughout a life rich in commitment and dedication, as well as his active, recognized contributions, both nationally and internationally, to the protection and consolidation of human rights and their universal values, alongside those of justice and democracy. He also praised the deceased’s unwavering attachment to the sacred national constants and his embodiment of sincere patriotism.
His Majesty the King shares the feelings of the family of the late Abdelaziz Bennani in this painful ordeal, the divine will being inescapable, beseeching the Most High to grant them patience and comfort, to envelop the deceased in His holy mercy and clemency, and to welcome him into His vast paradise.
