Manchester United are looking to make it back-to-back wins when they travel to Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
Following on from Manchester United’s 5-2 win over Ipswich Town, the Reds are on their travels again.
This time it’s a short trip to Merseyside, where Everton will be waiting at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Members of the press were at Carrington this morning to observe United’s open training session as Michael Carrick and the players took to the pitches. Here are four key takeaways.

Sky Sports reporter Danyal Khan was present with updates concerning several players, including Amad Diallo.
The Ivory Coast winger was a surprise absentee from the United team sheet on the opening weekend of the season, before it was revealed that he sustained a muscular injury in training.
Carrick has kept his cards close to his chest rather than providing a timeframe for Amad’s return. The winger missed training today, which means he is unlikely to make his first appearance of the season against Everton this weekend.
The sooner Amad returns, the better.
There was no sign of Matthijs de Ligt during the training session, but there’s every chance he was in the gym, working on his own.
It is noted in Khan’s X post that De Ligt is being load-managed to ensure he has the smoothest return from injury possible.
The game against Everton will come too soon for De Ligt.
From the clips shared across social media this afternoon, it is clear that United are doing lots of work on sharpness and running.
The players are putting in the hard yards after being slated for not working hard enough in their first game of the season. That 2-0 defeat against Hull City cannot be replicated too many times this season, or else the team risks going backwards.
United will need to graft hard against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
JJ Gabriel and Harry Amass were among the United youngsters spotted at training.
With Amass staying at United, despite being linked with a move throughout the summer, the young left-back has a golden opportunity to push Luke Shaw for his place in the team.
Shaw hasn’t started the season strongly, which should inspire Amass to fight for a chance in the team.
Meanwhile, there is lots of excitement around Gabriel. It’s only a matter of time before the 15-year-old makes his senior debut under Carrick.
