Rising Heatwave Driving Africa’s Air Conditioner Market To $13.14 Billion Growth By 2034

Increasing heatwave has been identified as a major contributor to Africa air conditioner market rise which is projected to grow from US$8.23 billion in 2025 to US$13.14 billion by 2034.

This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.34 per cent during the 2026-2034 forecast period, according to Research and Market report.

Rising temperatures, rapid urbanization, expanding construction activity and improving household incomes are increasing demand for air conditioning systems across residential, commercial and industrial applications.

In October 2025, Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A., a Mitsubishi Electric subsidiary, acquired a stake in South Africa-based Intramech Pty Ltd., which specializes in applied HVAC and IT cooling systems.

Egypt is experiencing strong demand due to high temperatures, urban development and infrastructure investment. Split and energy-efficient systems are increasingly popular across residential buildings, offices and hotels. In January 2026, Iveda announced a home appliance manufacturing venture in Egypt, marking its entry into locally produced consumer products.

Morocco is recording steady market growth supported by residential construction, tourism and commercial development. In May 2024, Daikin Middle East and Africa signed a memorandum of understanding with Morocco’s Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion to develop skilled HVAC-R professionals
