The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made the preliminary register of voters for the 2027 general election available online following concerns over the accessibility of the register.
The commission, in a statement issued on Monday by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), said the online publication was an additional measure to complement the physical display of the register conducted nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026.
INEC said the exercise was conducted in accordance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026, to enable registered voters to inspect their particulars and submit claims and objections as prescribed by law.
The commission said it had taken note of concerns raised by Nigerians and other stakeholders over the need to make the register accessible online in addition to the physical display at registration areas.
“Accordingly, and in furtherance of its commitment to transparency, accessibility and public confidence in the electoral process, the Commission has decided to make available on its online platform the same Preliminary Register of Voters earlier displayed at the Registration Areas,” the statement said.
The register can be accessed through **https://display.inecnigeria.org**.
INEC said the online platform was intended to facilitate wider public access to the register, while processing of claims and objections arising from the exercise continued.
It added that the process would precede the certification and publication of the final register of voters scheduled for December 15, 2026.
The commission appreciated the continued interest and constructive engagement of Nigerians and other stakeholders, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability and the implementation of the Electoral Act, 2026, towards delivering credible elections.
