Azerbaijani woman departs Lahore for Baku amid ongoing assault case
An Azerbaijani woman identified as Diana left Lahore for Azerbaijan on Sunday, accompanied by Pakistani police officials following arrangements made with the Azerbaijani embassy.
According to sources, Diana boarded Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-159 for Baku from Allama Iqbal International Airport. Three police officers, including an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) from the Defence area, accompanied her through the departure process and travelled with her to Azerbaijan.
The police team was deployed after a request from the Azerbaijani embassy and included a female police officer along with other officials.

Diana remained under the supervision of the Airport Security Force (ASF) at the Lahore airport before her departure. Police officials later completed the necessary boarding formalities and accompanied her onto the flight.
Sources said Diana had reached the airport two days earlier to travel to Azerbaijan but left the flight and refused to return to her country at the time. She subsequently stayed at the airport while arrangements were made for her departure.
Her departure comes amid an ongoing case in which she accused several individuals of assaulting her after she was taken to an apartment in Lahore. Diana recorded her allegations before a court on September 29.

According to her statement, Diana arrived in Islamabad from Istanbul on September 13 and spent five days in Faisalabad before travelling to Lahore. She said she intended to visit Skardu but, as she was alone in the city, contacted two acquaintances, Nimra and Muskan.
Diana stated that she later met Muskan at a cafe before accompanying her to an apartment, where two other men were allegedly present.
She told the court that she was not allowed to leave the apartment and alleged that she was later subjected to sexual assault. She further claimed that her cash, mobile phones, and other belongings were taken and that she was threatened with consequences if she contacted the police.

According to the statement, Diana was later taken away in a vehicle and eventually pushed out. She sought assistance from people nearby, who contacted the police emergency helpline, following which officers reached the area.
Police subsequently arrested suspects in connection with the case.
The suspects, including Mohsin and Ali Zain, have denied the sexual assault allegations. In their statements, they said they had only interacted with Diana socially and claimed that she had stayed at the apartment voluntarily.
They also maintained that Diana had reached the apartment through her acquaintances, Nimra and Muskan. The suspects denied having any knowledge of allegations against another individual, identified as Ahmed Tanveer.

The case remains under legal proceedings, and allegations made by either side have not been established as facts unless proven through the relevant judicial process.
