Kaizer Chiefs Reportedly Reach Agreement With Elias Mokwana After Weeks Of Negotiations

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly reached an agreement with Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana following weeks of negotiations, bringing the highly discussed transfer closer to completion.

The former Sekhukhune United attacker is said to be returning to South African football after his departure from Tunisian giants Espérance. His potential move to Naturena represents a significant change in direction, particularly after his agent, Pontsho Madumo, initially dismissed the possibility of a return to the Premier Soccer League.

According to the latest reports, both Mokwana and Chiefs have now settled the terms of their proposed agreement. The winger is expected to complete his medical examinations before putting pen to paper and officially becoming a Chiefs player.

The reported agreement would bring an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the player’s future, with several discussions taking place over the possibility of securing his services.

Mokwana previously established himself as an exciting attacking player in South African football, earning recognition for his pace, direct approach and ability to trouble opposing defenders. His performances also helped him attract attention from clubs outside the country, eventually leading to his move to Espérance.

However, the reported return to the PSL could provide him with an opportunity to rebuild his career in familiar surroundings while taking on a new challenge with one of the country’s most supported clubs.

For Kaizer Chiefs, securing a player with international experience could strengthen their attacking options as they continue working towards improving their competitiveness.

Mokwana’s arrival would also increase competition for places in the attacking department, giving the coaching staff another option on the wings.

Although the agreement has reportedly been reached, the transfer is still subject to the completion of his medical examinations and the signing of the necessary documents.
