Namibia fish consumption trust wins award at OATF

The Namibia Fish Consumption Trust (NFCT) was one of the enterprises which received awards at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF) 2026.

Although this is the 25th time the OATF is taking place, so that this year’s trade fair was officially opened by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, this year’s award ceremony was drastically toned down and it had only one sponsor.

In previous years the award ceremony had multiple sponsors, with each sponsor covering the costs for one category of the awards. The award for each category was then presented by the CEO or senior official of the sponsoring company.

However the award ceremony for this year was sponsored only by the Olthaver and List Group.

Mr Victory Shimwandi, representing the O&L Group, said that each winner of an award gets a N$1,000 voucher from Model.

While a total of 24 awards were given to deserving enterprises, Namibia Fish Consumption Trust stood out as one of the most deserved winners by receiving the award for Best Exhibitor in the Fisheries and Marine Resources category.
