The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) will hold its 2026 Ordinary Congress on Friday, 23 October 2026, as the region prepares for the 2026/27 football season.
The statutory meeting will be held at the Aliu Mahama Stadium and is scheduled to start at 09:00. Delegates, club representatives and other stakeholders from across Northern Region football are expected to attend.
The Ordinary Congress is the highest decision-making body of the Association. It will allow members to assess the NRFAs work during the past season and discuss the main issues requiring attention before the new campaign begins.
Delegates are expected to consider the Associations Activity Report, Financial Statements and Auditors Report, alongside the proposed budget for the new season. The review of the previous season will also form part of the agenda.
Other matters for discussion include the competitions calendar, football development programmes and issues linked to the administration and development of the game across the region.
The Congress will also give the Executive Council, led by Northern Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Abu-Hassan, an opportunity to update clubs and other stakeholders on progress made over the past season.
Members are expected to discuss the difficulties facing grassroots football in the region, with the meeting providing a forum for clubs and the Associations leadership to engage on those challenges.
In line with the Ghana Football Association Statutes, the relevant Congress documents and agenda have already been circulated to members. The move is intended to give delegates enough time to study the material and prepare for the deliberations.
The gathering will help establish the framework for the coming regional season. The Association is expected to announce when its various competitions will begin following the Congress.
The meeting comes as preparations continue across Northern Region for the start of the new football calendar, with clubs and stakeholders set to receive further direction on competitions, development initiatives and the NRFAs plans for the season ahead.
