Man Utd fans react to Bruno Fernandes’ performance vs Como and all conjure Michael Carrick theory

Manchester United fans immediately singled out Michael Carrick and Bruno Fernandes during the Red Devils’ Champions League clash against Como.
The Red Devils kicked off their Champions League run last month and made a strong start to their return to Europe after Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Sabah.
Despite United’s demolition of Sabah, Michael Carrick saw the Red Devils’ first setback in the Champions League after his side faced La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
United lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium last week before the Red Devils travelled to Italy for Wednesday evening’s tie with Serie A side Como.
Man Utd fans are convinced that Michael Carrick’s days are numbered after his rare Bruno Fernandes substitution
Michael Carrick surprised Manchester United fans in the 67th minute after the 45-year-old Red Devils boss hooked off Bruno Fernandes. United were trailing Como 3-0 at the time that Fernandes came off the pitch and Joshua Zirkzee was brought on in his place.
Posting on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, United supporters felt that Carrick’s decision to sub off Fernandes might signal the end of his managerial reign at the Premier League club.
One X user posted: “Bruno off; this really may be the end of Carrick. Oh, God.”
While a second Man Utd fan said: “That’s the last time we will see Bruno under Carrick.”
“Goodbye, Michael Carrick. Goodbye, Bruno Fernandes,” someone else commented.
Another shared: “Think we’re in the final days/weeks with Carrick… and the final season of Bruno. Feels like a pivotal night.”
“Carrick finally pulls Bruno off when he’s basically lost his job,” a fifth Red Devils supporter wrote.
And a sixth added: “Little late to take Bruno off now, Carrick. It’s done, bro.”
Somebody else tweeted: “Bruno off for Zirkzee at 67 minutes, I think, sums up the situation at the moment. Carrick is toast.”
“Bruno off. Carrick only did it in his last match,” an eighth claimed.
Following Wednesday’s Champions League clash, Man Utd will now return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon and will face Bournemouth. The Red Devils’ fixture against the Cherries will be hosted at Old Trafford and is slated for a 2pm kick-off time in the UK.
