The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development has temporarily suspended walk-in services at the Deputy Cadastre Registrar’s Office to accelerate the rollout of its digital mining title administration system.
Permanent Secretary Thomas Utete Wushe said on Friday, 23 October, that the office will not attend to walk-in visitors with effect from Monday, 26 October 2026, until further notice.
This applies to the general public, mining title holders, applicants, prospectors, legal practitioners and all stakeholders.
Wushe said that the measure is intended to allow staff to accelerate the implementation of the digital Mining Title Management System, which he said will improve the speed, transparency, accuracy and security of mining title administration.
He said during the suspension period, lodgement of documents will continue through alternative channels. Applications and supporting documents may be submitted through the respective Provincial Mining Director’s office.
Wushe warned that the Ministry has not appointed any agents and does not charge any fee to facilitate access to the office.
He urged members of the public to report any such solicitation to the toll-free line, the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) or the police.
