Manchester United youngster Jaume Camacho’s representatives have high hopes for the teenager.
Jaume Camacho is one of the Manchester United youngsters creating a lot of interest at the moment. He was recently named by The Guardian as the club’s best first-year scholar, those between ages 16-17.
Camacho scored for United’s under-18s at the weekend against Chelsea, continuing his impressive start to the season.
Eligible to play for either England or Spain, Camacho’s progress has attracted attention from Spanish newspaper Marca.
He has signed with agency Roc Nation, and Camacho’s representative Nathan Campbell told the newspaper that they have high hopes for the player, who turned 17 earlier this month.
Campbell said: “I’ve never seen him play a bad game. He never scores below a six. He’s a leader on the field and a hard worker.
“He has great technical ability and is an intelligent footballer, which allows him to play with complete ease in different positions on the pitch.”
Camacho’s reps target first team
Jaume Camacho only made his Manchester United under-18s debut at the start of this year, and his appearances at this level are still in single digits. Despite this, his agency have high hopes to progress him to the first team as quickly as possible.
Campbell said: “When we start to see his full physical potential, combined with his extraordinary footballing intelligence, he will become an elite player.
“Our ambition is for him to make the leap to the first team as soon as possible and secure a place in one of the top five European leagues. The ultimate goal is for him to win major titles with both his club and his national team.”
United fans may feel a little nervous hearing this, having just seen JJ Gabriel push to secure a likely exit. Campbell does not overtly state that their ambition is for Camacho to play for the club, simply to establish himself as a first team player in a top league.
The difference is that Camacho is under contract with United right now, and he is working very hard to progress at Carrington. If he proves to be good enough, then you have to hope the opportunities will come his way.
