The Executive Director, Corporate Services, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Ifedayo Sunday Abegunde, has started mobilisation of support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
Also, Abegunde met with critical stakeholders and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in Akure North and South federal constituency with the aim of supporting their aspirations for the next year’s election.
The candidates included Hon. Omowunmi Ohovoriole, the House of Representatives candidate in Akure North/South federal constituency, Hon Stephen Abitogun, the incumbent House of Assembly candidate in Akure South Constituency II, candidate for Akure South Constituency I, Hon. Rosemary Adebola Fnyh.
Others included the Akure South LCDA Chairmen, Akure South Vice Chairman; supervisors and councillors; community leaders; party chieftains; youths; government appointees; and other key political actors from across the local government.
Addressing the gathering, Abegunde reaffirmed his solidarity with all APC candidates and called on party leaders and stakeholders to work collectively towards securing victory for the party in the 2027 General Election, including the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He stressed that the responsibility of delivering electoral success rests significantly on the ability of party leaders and stakeholders to remain united, committed, coordinated, and connected to the people at the grassroots.
Abegunde expressed confidence in the capacity of the stakeholders to mobilise effectively across Akure South, noting that with unity, cooperation, dedication, and the grace of God, victory would be achieved for the APC at the national and constituency levels.
He also urged party members to put the collective interest of the party above personal differences and to support one another in building a stronger and more cohesive political family.
According to him, sustained grassroots engagement, effective communication, teamwork, and inclusive leadership remain essential to strengthening the party’s political structure ahead of 2027.
The stakeholders expressed appreciation to Abegunde for his consistent support, commitment, accessibility, and unwavering dedication to party members.
They particularly commended his efforts in bringing party stakeholders together, promoting unity, supporting members, and strengthening political coordination within Akure South.
