Malema claims he knows EFF infiltrators by name, fires warning after SSA allegations rock party

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has claimed that he knows the identities of individuals who allegedly infiltrated the party, making a striking revelation while addressing supporters amid claims involving the State Security Agency (SSA).

Malema’s remarks come against the backdrop of allegations surrounding possible infiltration of the EFF, raising questions about internal party security, political intelligence gathering and the alleged involvement of individuals seeking to undermine the organisation.

Addressing supporters, the EFF president declared that he was aware of those allegedly operating within the party under questionable circumstances.

“I know the names of people who infiltrated EFF,” Malema told supporters.

The statement is likely to generate considerable political interest, particularly given the seriousness of allegations involving intelligence agencies and possible attempts to influence or destabilise political organisations.

The State Security Agency has featured in discussions surrounding claims of political surveillance and intelligence operations in South Africa. However, allegations of infiltration should be treated cautiously until supported by independently verified evidence.

Malema’s declaration also raises questions about whether the EFF leadership intends to take further action against individuals suspected of working against the party from within.

For a political organisation that has consistently positioned itself as a force challenging South Africa’s established political order, allegations of infiltration could have significant implications for internal trust, organisational stability and leadership confidence.

The EFF has previously faced political challenges and internal disagreements, making questions about loyalty and the protection of party structures particularly sensitive.

Although Malema indicated that he knew the names of those allegedly involved, his statement does not, on its own, establish the identities of the individuals concerned or prove that they worked with the State Security Agency.

His remarks have nevertheless placed the spotlight firmly on the allegations, with supporters likely to expect further clarity from the party leadership.

The unfolding controversy could add another dimension to the country’s already heated political environment as the EFF navigates growing scrutiny over intelligence-related claims.
