Charles Nguna has hosted Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo in Mumbuni Division, Kitui County, where the two leaders presided over the official opening of a modern Assistant County Commissioner’s (ACC) administrative office. The event marked a significant step towards bringing government services closer to residents and strengthening administration at the grassroots.

Accompanied by Nguna, PS Omollo officially commissioned the new administrative block and oversaw the installation of the newly appointed Assistant County Commissioner for Mumbuni Division. The development is expected to improve coordination between government agencies, strengthen security operations and enhance service delivery to residents who previously faced challenges accessing administrative services.

For the people of Mumbuni, the new office represents more than a modern building. It brings government closer to their homes, making it easier to seek assistance, report security concerns and access essential administrative services without travelling long distances. The facility will also provide officers with a more conducive working environment, enabling them to serve the public more efficiently.

PS Omollo reiterated the Kenya Kwanza Government’s commitment to expanding administrative services and strengthening its presence across Kitui County and the country at large. He said the establishment and operationalisation of new administrative units was part of a broader effort to ensure communities receive government services regardless of their geographical location.

Omollo emphasised that the initiative gives practical meaning to the principle of “Usawa ni Sawa” by promoting fairness in the distribution of government services, security infrastructure and administrative resources. Through the establishment of new divisions and administrative offices, the government seeks to narrow service delivery gaps and ensure that even residents in remote areas feel its presence.

For MP Charles Nguna, the commissioning adds to ongoing efforts to strengthen government service delivery in Mwingi West. His presence alongside the Interior PS underscored the importance of cooperation between elected leaders and the national administration in addressing the needs of local communities. Effective grassroots administration remains essential in tackling security challenges, resolving local disputes and ensuring government programmes reach intended beneficiaries.

As Mumbuni residents welcome the new administrative facility, expectations are high that it will translate into faster services, improved security coordination and closer engagement between the government and the public. The ultimate measure of the investment, however, will be how effectively the new office responds to residents’ everyday needs and makes government services more accessible to the people it is meant to serve.
