Fubara Reaffirms Support For Investors, Pledges Conducive Business Environs
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured companies operating in the State of his administration’s continued commitment to providing adequate security, infrastructure and an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The governor emphasized that Rivers State remains a safe and conducive destination for energy investments, assuring investors of the state government’s support for their operations.
Fubara gave the assurance in Port Harcourt during an event organised by Renaissance Africa Energy Company (RAEC) to commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
Represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Barrister Sonny Ewule, the governor described Renaissance Africa Energy Company as a strategic partner of the state, noting that the success of the company would also contribute to the development and prosperity of Rivers State.
“We see Renaissance as a strategic partner, not just a company because your success in Rivers State, is Rivers State success. When you produce more oil and gas, our communities benefit; when you honour your community trust under the PIA, our villages will have schools and clinics; when you engage our youths we have peace in the creeks and waterways,” he said.
Fubara expressed appreciation to the company for choosing to celebrate the Independence Anniversary in Rivers State, saying the gesture demonstrates its confidence in and commitment to the state.
“The governor has asked me to convey three messages: firstly, to thank you for choosing to celebrate Independence here in Port Harcourt with your staff, instead of just Lagos or Abuja. It shows your root here in Rumuobiakani, in Rivers State,” Ewule said.
The governor, however , called on the company to deepen its commitment to Nigeria, particularly through responsible environmental stewardship in the Niger Delta, prompt payment of contractors engaged from the state, and increased investment in skills development for young people.
