Prayer breakfast to rally leaders on unity

DODOMA: FORMER Prime Minister Frederick Sumaye yesterday announced the 7th Tanzania National Prayer Breakfast, saying this year’s gathering will rally leaders behind ethical leadership, national unity and shared responsibility for the country’s development.

The three-day event will be held in Dodoma from November 5 to 7 under the theme, “Developing Together: One People, One Nation Under God,” bringing together leaders from government, Parliament, the Judiciary, faith communities, business, civil society and international partner organisations.

Speaking at a press conference in Dodoma, Mr Sumaye, who chairs the organising committee, said the 2026 theme reflects the country’s need to strengthen moral leadership and collective responsibility as it pursues sustainable social and economic development.

“The 2026 theme reflects a national call for unity, shared responsibility and moral leadership as the country continues its journey toward sustainable social and economic development,” he said.

Mr Sumaye said the programme will include sessions for young leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and faith leaders to promote integrity, innovation and active participation in nation-building.

He said the flagship prayer breakfast will also provide an opportunity for leaders from different sectors to reflect on their shared responsibility in promoting peace, unity and accountable leadership.

The event is organised by the Tanzania National Prayer Breakfast (TNPB) and hosted by the Kingdom Leadership Network Tanzania (KLNT) in collaboration with the National Assembly and World Vision Tanzania.

Established in 2016, the annual gathering has become an interfaith and nonpartisan forum where leaders from different sectors meet to pray and reflect on issues affecting the nation.
