In a practical demonstration of this commitment, the state has become the first in the federation to flag off the presidential campaign with a One Million Man March for President Tinubu and Governor Namadi’s re-election.
After the Hadejia Senatorial Zone, the march took place in Gumel for the Jigawa North-West Senatorial Zone and held its final leg in Dutse, the state capital, for Jigawa South-West. Hundreds of thousands of youths joined the march, holding flags and other placards, demonstrating their unwavering support and commitment to ensuring the re-election of President Tinubu, Governor Malam Umar Namadi, and all other APC candidates in 2027.
It was particularly noteworthy that the political rally was conducted peacefully across all three senatorial zones. The roadshow appeared to be a morale booster for APC loyalists and an opportunity to strengthen their faith in their party and its candidates at all levels.
At the zonal final grand march, the Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, reminded the teeming youths that Governor Umar Namadi and President Bola Ahmad Tinubu had initiated and implemented various projects and programmes to make them self-reliant and enable them to become socially and economically better off.
Malam Bala narrated that over 500,000 people had received various skills training, grants, and other interventions under different economic empowerment programmes across Jigawa State.
The SSG, who is also a seasoned politician, public servant, and grassroots mobilizer, charged the youths and all the people of Jigawa State not to let anybody deceive them into voting for any party’s candidates other than the APC.
“President Bola Ahmad Tinubu stands for you with Renewed Hope, Governor Namadi stands for you with his 12-point agenda, while the APC stands for a better Nigeria. Therefore, you must be vigilant and vote for continuity, not uncertainty,” Malam Bala stated.
For the State Commissioner of Special Duties and one of the conveners of the One Million Man March, Hon. Auwal Sankara a shining example of Nigerian youth principality in governance—said that with the conclusion of the senatorial One Million Man March, they had automatically launched the campaign for the second term in 2027 for President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi.
“Jigawa youths are not waiting for directives when it comes to taking any action that will defend and promote President Tinubu, Governor Namadi, and the APC agenda, which are always centred on youth and Nigeria’s sustainable growth.”
Hon. Sankara, who insisted that they had launched the presidential campaign ahead of any other state in Nigeria, expressed optimism that in terms of vote ratio, Jigawa would deliver the highest votes to President Bola Tinubu to ensure his return in 2027.
The commissioner further stated that after the zonal rallies, they would also commence local government by local government rallies to prepare and re-awaken the youth and the entire people of the state on the need to re-elect President Bola Tinubu, Governor Namadi, and all other APC candidates.
“We will not find it difficult to convince people to re-elect APC candidates at all levels, because in every household, in every community, in every political ward, and in every local government, Jigawa people have dividends of democracy to show, delivered by the APC government.
“For instance, in my ministry alone, over 145,000 less-privileged households across the 27 local governments received N70,000 non-conditional cash transfers under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and in every ministry and parastatal, there are many such good stories.
“As our leaders have been emphasizing, by God’s grace, Jigawa will deliver two million votes to President Tinubu. This is not a political statement but a commitment and a covenant which we will do our best to fulfil, InshaAllah,” Sankara stated.
A manager of Three Brothers Rice Mills Company, Alhaji Aminu Dalhatu, who also took part in the final grand rally of the One Million Man March in Dutse, said he had every faith that President Tinubu and Governor Namadi are leaders that Nigerians must stand by and give more time to deliver the country to the promised land.
According to him, in present-day Nigeria, there is no better presidential candidate than President Bola Ahmad Tinubu. Likewise, in Jigawa, there is no better candidate than Governor Umar Namadi, and no better party than the APC, as they have all been tested and trusted. Their re-election in 2027 is a binding issue upon every reasonable and patriotic citizen.
Hon. Babangida Ibrahim Gantsa was also at the grand rally, during which he charged the people of Jigawa State against any gamble of voting for non-APC candidates at any level. He maintained that only the APC has strong leadership and a clear manifesto for physical and human capital development in Nigeria.
He then advised all youths and the people of Jigawa who had not collected their voter cards to go and collect them as INEC commenced distribution across all political wards in the state. He noted that one can only vote for APC candidates when one has a PVC, so the card is necessary for every eligible voter interested in sustainable democracy and national development.
