Orlando Pirates thrash Milford FC in the Carling Knockout
Orlando Pirates breezed into the Carling Knockout Cup last eight after an emphatic 3-0 win over Milford FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena.

A Tshepang Moremi brace and a fine finish from Thapelo Mokobodi sent Orlando Pirates in the final eight of the Carling Knockout Cup.
Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou had made two changes from the side that beat African Stars 4-0 in the CAF Champions League last Friday.
Deon Hotto and Ghampani Lungu replaced Nkosikhona Ndaba and Simphiwe Masilela.

The breakthrough arrived in the 15th minute when early pressure paid off for the home side. Moremi turned provider, threading a perfectly weighted through-ball to midfielder Thapelo Mokobodi, who calmly slotted a low shot past Milford goalkeeper Siphamandla Hleza into the bottom corner.
The Sea Robbers doubled their advantage in the 34th minute through a swift transitional move where Moremi beat the offside trap, outpaced the defence, and expertly finished from an acute angle.
Right on the stroke of halftime, Moremi completed his brace by latching onto a defence-splitting pass from Mpho Padime and rounding the keeper to make it 3-0.
The second half saw Orlando Pirates manage their lead comfortably, dictating the tempo and restricting the lower-league opponents to minimal chances. Milford FC tried to fight back but struggled to break down a solid Pirates defensive line.
This emphatic victory provides a massive confidence boost for head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side as they shift their focus to Saturday’s highly anticipated Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs.
SOWETO DERBY AGAINST KAIZER CHIEFS
Amakhosi are suddenly looking like a different team after this evening. Coach Fernando Da Cruz’s team defeated TS Galaxy 3-0 to advance to the Carling Knockout Cup last night.
Kaizer Chiefs’ homegrown talent Wandile Duba smashed in his first career hattrick before walking away from the Man of the Match award.
