According to report by Flashscore on Friday, October 23, 2026, Nigeria’s Flamingos took a 2-0 lead against North Korea at half-time in their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 Group B encounter at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat.
Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Oluebube Umejiaku scored in the 15th and 38th minutes respectively, giving the Nigerian team a commanding advantage against the defending champions.
While both forwards made decisive contributions on the scoresheet, Mary Dunstan and Tosin Rafiu are also among the four players selected for recognition following Nigeria’s encouraging first-half display.
Adegbuyi delivered an important contribution by opening the scoring in the 15th minute. The forward’s goal gave Nigeria an early lead against one of the strongest teams in the competition and helped the Flamingos settle into the contest.
The early breakthrough was particularly valuable against a North Korean side that had scored freely in its opening matches. Adegbuyi’s goal rewarded Nigeria’s attacking efforts and gave her team an opportunity to approach the remainder of the first half with greater confidence.
Umejiaku strengthened Nigeria’s position with the second goal in the 38th minute. The forward found the net seven minutes before half-time, increasing the Flamingos’ advantage to two goals.
Her strike provided Nigeria with a more comfortable position heading into the break and put additional pressure on North Korea to respond in the second half.
Having also scored against Poland in Nigeria’s opening Group B fixture, Umejiaku continued to demonstrate her importance to the team’s attacking options.
Dunstan earns recognition among Nigeria’s four selected players for her midfield role in the contest. The midfielder was part of the Flamingos’ starting lineup in their previous group match against Poland, where she featured before being substituted in the second half.
Against North Korea, her midfield responsibilities were important to Nigeria’s efforts to compete against the defending champions and maintain their advantage.
Rafiu completes the list of four selected Flamingos players. The midfielder has also featured in Nigeria’s group-stage campaign, including the 2-0 victory over Puerto Rico, in which she came close to scoring. Her inclusion recognises her role in Nigeria’s midfield as the Flamingos sought to maintain their two-goal lead against North Korea.
