Bongo Ideas Demands Probe Into Sarkodie’s Concert, Questions Emergency Preparedness
According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Sunday, October 25,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has called for an investigation into an alleged safety incident at a concert by rapper Sarkodie, urging authorities to hold event organisers accountable if any lapses are established.
In a Facebook post, Bongo Ideas raised concerns over a video allegedly showing a young man struggling to breathe during the show. He questioned the reported decision to place the individual inside a car with its windows closed, expressing concern about the response to the apparent medical emergency.
The commentator also questioned whether adequate medical personnel and an ambulance had been provided at the venue to handle emergencies involving concertgoers.
He criticised the event’s organisation, asking whether the emphasis on selling VIP, VVIP and premium tickets had overshadowed the responsibility to ensure the safety of attendees.
Bongo Ideas described the concert as a flop in his personal assessment and compared Sarkodie’s event with the crowd-pulling ability of dancehall musician Shatta Wale, whom he praised for attracting large audiences to his shows.
However, his strongest criticism centred on the alleged safety concerns, with a call for greater accountability and improved emergency arrangements at major entertainment events.
He urged Sarkodie and the organisers to address the questions raised about the incident and called on the relevant authorities to investigate what happened. He further suggested that future concerts should be suspended if investigations establish serious safety failures.
Beyond his criticism of the event, Bongo Ideas issued a warning to young people about the importance of protecting their lives when attending concerts. He encouraged them to prioritise their personal development and financial goals, arguing that no concert ticket was worth risking their safety.
