KPLC Announces Sunday Power Interruptions in Five Counties, Check If Your Area Is Affected

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned electricity interruptions affecting selected areas across five counties on Sunday, raising the need for residents to prepare for temporary power cuts.

The scheduled maintenance may affect households, businesses, offices and other establishments that depend on a reliable electricity supply. Customers are therefore advised to check whether their locations appear on the official outage schedule before making plans for the day.

For many Kenyans, Sunday is a time to relax, attend church services, prepare meals, do laundry and catch up on household duties. However, an unexpected power interruption can disrupt these activities, especially when residents have not made prior arrangements.

The planned outages could also affect small businesses that rely on electricity to serve customers. Shops, salons, hotels and other enterprises may need to adjust their operations depending on the duration of the interruption in their respective areas.

Kenya Power regularly schedules maintenance work to support the electricity distribution network and address technical requirements. Such interruptions may be necessary to allow technicians to carry out work safely and improve the reliability of electricity supply.

Customers are encouraged to charge their mobile phones, keep essential devices ready and make alternative arrangements for activities that require electricity. Those running businesses may also consider adjusting their working hours to minimise possible inconveniences.

Residents who depend on electrically powered equipment should take the necessary precautions before the scheduled interruptions begin.

However, the impact will vary depending on the specific locations listed in the company’s notice. Customers should consult Kenya Power’s official communication channels to confirm whether their neighbourhood is affected and establish the announced starting and ending times.

Kenyans are advised to check the official schedule early to avoid unnecessary inconvenience on Sunday.

Note: The information provided does not include the five counties, affected neighbourhoods or exact outage times. These details should be confirmed from Kenya Power’s official notice before publication.
